5-3-2011 Possible Final Post!

Yep.  It's true.  This might be the final post of this blog.  I got my MRI results yesterday and they were great.  None of the bad stuff grew back.  All of the stuff that they were concerned with went away.  Everything looked great.

I will still be on Chemo for the next year as a preventative measure and I'll be getting MRI's about every 2 months to make sure things stay this way.  As of right now the cancers ass has been kicked!

Much love and thanks to everyone, Brian

P.S.  I always say I look like Jason after the camp counselors learn how to fight back so there's a pic for anyone whose unfamiliar......

April 16th Update

I graduated!!!
So now I have an MRI appointment for the 28th of this month.  I then go to L.A. on May 2nd to meet with the chemo doctor to get the results of the MRI and to start the next stage of chemo therapy.  The radiation seemed to go as smooth as possible and hopefully it did its job.  Super thankful for all of the love and support.  Love, Brian

March 22nd Update

Hey hey, not too much to say.  Things have pretty much leveled out these days.  I'm at the beginning of week 3 with radiation.  Almost half way done.  I'm feeling pretty good.  My scalp is getting a little irritated these days but other than that and having no energy, I'm feeling fine.

There's not going to be any new info for a while.  I have to schedule a MRI for May 1st so when I get the results of that test, that will probably be the next time I write an update.  Until then just the same old routine, radiation mon. thru fri. and chemo every night.

Much love, Brian

March 12th Update

1st week of radiation and chemo done!!!  I'm glad to say that the radiation and chemo doesn't seem to be too bad.  I'm happy to have the weekend off.  No radiation til Monday :)  I'm getting pretty comfortable with the whole "mask" thing.  I had the girls show me how to unclamp it myself in case I'm in there when our 8.0 earthquake hits.  They said they would save me but I'm pretty sure they will be running for their lives if it hits so I got it handled just in case....

As far as the chemo goes, it's really mild.  It makes me feel a little funny but not too bad.  I haven't really had much nausea or anything.  It's mostly a tired and achy feeling.  It's almost like having the flu without the sinus problems and fever.

Thanks again for all the love and support.  I'll take as much as I can get!  I couldn't ask for better friends and family.  It sucks to have to go through this but at least I have a bunch of awesome, supportive people to go through it with me.  Tons of love, Brian

March 3rd Update

Hi everybody.  Well, today I had the final "set up" appointment for my radiation treatment.  They clamped my Jason Voorhees mask a little tighter to the table this time which made it a little more freaky and it lasted like 20 min. which seemed like 1 hour.  Having your head clamped to a table while people are just going about their every day business is crazy but they gave me music this time so it totally ruled!!!  They said I could bring my own music in but I don't think they know what they'd be in for.  I think I'll just let them listen to their oldies so they don't screw it up, ya know?

So the treatments will be starting on Mon. March 7th along with the chemo.  It will be 5 days a week for 6 weeks for a total of 30 treatments.  They said I don't have to worry about losing my hair but obviously they aren't paying too close attention because that sheit started falling out years ago :)

I'm supposed to be able to start driving again soon and go back to work next month so that will be awesome.  I'm really getting tired of Steve Wilcos and Maury and Judge Judy ect.  I thought it would be awesome to kick it at home and do nothing but I was very, very wrong.  So I'm totally looking forward to getting back on track......get back to where I once belonged.

Thanks for all of the support and prayers and blog comments.  I'm a lucky guy to have so much love and support out there.  Love ya all, Brian

Feb. 25th Update

Today I went in for radiation "set up" #1.  They made a plastic mask that they use to secure my head to the table that I'll be laying on for the radiation treatment to that my head is in the same exact spot every time.  They also took a scan of my whole body just to make sure that everything lines up the same each time.  Kind of creepy but not too bad.

My next appointment, which is "set up" #2, is on March 3rd.  They will be getting the radiation machine all dialed in and set up to do it's thing on this day.  The actual radiation is supposed to start on Mon. March 7th but we don't have an actual appointment scheduled yet.  The appointment will be scheduled during the March 3rd appointment.

Until next time.................XOXOXO
